ABOUT ME
こんにちは (Hello)!
My name is Tomoko. Kimono, the traditional Japanese attire, has become a symbol of appreciation for my cultural heritage. I love kimonos and offer kimono dressing, rental, and photography in Saskatchewan.
花見 (Hanami) is a favourite springtime activity in Japan of getting out and admiring the beauty of cherry blossom. It is also the name of the street in Kyoto famous for historic atmosphere and geishas scurrying into teahouses.
Born and raised in Kyoto, the cultural capital of Japan, I grew up surrounded by shrines and temples, and age-old traditions passed through generations. Let me help you experience a hint of authentic Japan through the art of kimono dressing.
おこしやす (Welcome)!

WHAT IS KIMONO?
着物 (Kimono) means ‘thing to wear.’ Originally derived from traditional Chinese garments, it has been modified and maintained its basic structure for over a thousand years.
Kimono outfits remain popular in Japan for ceremonial occasions such as weddings and funerals. During summertime, it is also popular to wear 浴衣 (yukata), which is a single-layer kimono made from thinner fabric for hot, humid climate.
Complete kimono attire consists of over 20 pieces, clips, ties, and accessories. Kimono dressing is complex, time-consuming process that requires skills and experience. Below are just some of the kimono parts (ladies):
